I'M A NIGERIAN

I'M A NIGERIA

In the mid-nineties
I was born into the economy of naira not cedies
Surviving as a child
Through my parents being my guide.
I was sage enough
Knowing I wasn’t born with a silver spoon.
Who am I to question?

A Nigerian blossomed with many passions.

A Nigerian
Cramped to a single deen.

A Nigerian
Finding it hard to use the waste bin

A Nigerian
Accustomed to the Yoruba, my indigenous language

A Nigerian
Who learned the word of ‘HUSTLING’
Pedantic enough that ‘No food for a lazy man’.

A  Nigerian
Seems to be sometimes patriotic
And on a bad day being traitorous

A Nigerian
Ill at ease of her social structure
Motivated towards being known as the giant of Africa

A Nigerian
Carrying a burden as a bread winner
I fought hard with the crashed economy
Being raped by impotent leaders.

A Nigerian
Used to darkness
Burning candles at both ends
Before screaming ‘UP NEPA’

A Nigerian
Enduring a lot of social maladies
Believing being liberated from the status quo is not a fallacy

I am a Nigerian
For the pros she fain
For the cons that drained her oils
I will forever be a Nigerian.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY

For, I Still Do

For, I Still Do 'My world' was among one of the last things I enchanted my mouth & silence with, to you. I never knew it'll be my last. The trepidation of throwing off your scent Kept afloat on the river of our previous love Get drown, I mean d                                     r                                     o                                     w                                       n ,  & this love never sent me a drowning letter from the heart. Life can be down with one in the dumps, after love was lost in the creed of a bloody assassination, bathed in cold tears  and a peal of horrible laug...

MY SOLACE

TITLE : MY SOLACE  Happy Birthday to my solace  My makeup when I have a dull face  My sugar in the time of sour taste  Obviously we're from a different caste.  It will be so cruel  If I can't pen something for you here Because the day we met there  We became intimate with no fear.  Before today, you're just a friend  But now, you're a sister to the end I'll be your lawyer, if you have a case to defend Today is yours, and that's the new trend. With your stature, you're my infant  Trust you as my confidant  Sometimes I accept to be a fool When you tease me on who's more beautiful. She's my perfect place of comfort Consoling me in the time of distress thought  My cute girlfriend, adorable and short  Don't mind me, you're still my fort.  You've showed me love in many ways  Even when I change and sways How can I appreciate those days You cared for me in many ways.  My baby girl,...

The Temple I could not Worship

The Temple I could not Worship   Location: Cloud 9 Club House, off moon Road, Jupiter State.  Time: 9pm I walked into the dance hall  Which was my first time  Since I've travelled to a new planet.  And, here comes she...  ... dancing through my gaze 00:00 seconds, my focus changed  towards her set of loins. She has no face but beauty is all I see.  She wears a sexy smile  That could pull of my cloths at a glance. Oh, this is not my doom day And waiting to groom her on my wedding day  Is like a dream never come through.  And here she is,  Drinking from the thirsty ocean  of my assorted salty lips.   I thought it was a joke  When her hands moon walked  through my infantry hairy chest.  She halt at the center For me to catch some vibes. And as the music keep playing on, On and on and on and on...  The more I become lost and migh...
